The Macaroon Ceilidh Band is a ceilidh dance band based in Kendal, Cumbria. The line-up is two fiddles and a piano, with occasional percussion, accordion and Galician bagpipes.
The three-piece band consists of twin sisters Hannah and Philippa Bull on fiddles with Colin Blakey on piano.
Between them they have many years' experience in playing for dancing.
The music is predominantly Scottish, Appalachian and Cumbrian, with a distinct Shetland feel due in part to the solid rhythmic piano played in the style of the great Violet Tulloch, and a mixture of flying fiddle tunes - traditional, quirky, and full of life.
Very dancy indeed…
The Macaroons are joined by an expert caller for all their dance gigs, so beginners and pro's alike can enjoy a range of set dances from around the world.

We are lucky to be able to work with three of Cumbria's finest callers: Bill Lloyd, Alison Leiper and the award-winning Fiona Rigg.
The Macaroon Ceilidh Band is available for celebrations and other events throughout Cumbria and beyond. To book and/or find out more, please contact us.
