The Macaroon Ceilidh Band is a ceilidh band based in Kendal, Cumbria.

The three-piece band consists of Pete French on piano, Philippa Bull on fiddle and accordion, and Colin Blakey on whistles, flute, banjo and Spanish bagpipes (gaita).
Between them they have many years' experience in playing for dancing.
The music is predominantly Scottish, Appalachian and Cumbrian, with a distinct Shetland feel - flying melodies underpinned by bouncy rhythmic piano played in the style of the great Violet Tulloch - traditional, quirky, and full of life. Very dancy indeed…
The Macaroons are joined by an expert caller for all their ceilidh gigs, so beginners and pro's alike can enjoy a range of set dances from around the world.
We are lucky to be able to work with Cumbria's finest callers including Fiona Rigg, Martyn Harvey, Chris Bland, Bill Lloyd and Les Ord.
The Macaroon Ceilidh Band is also available for many other kinds of events and celebrations eg listening concerts, wedding processions, galas, fairs and festivals - throughout Cumbria and beyond.
We have public liability insurance and all our electrical equipment is PAT safety-tested.
